About

Our Story

In January 2024 a needs-assessment survey of collaborative biostatisticians across Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) centers indicated that there was a need for a national network, that extended beyond CTSA centers, that would empower and unite quantitative staff. As a result, in March 2024 the Quantitative Staff Network (QSN) was established.

The QSN aims to provide nationwide professional development support, networking opportunities, and, as part of our Core Activities, serve as an information resource and advocate through the fostering of community among staff statisticians, informaticians, data scientists, data analysts, and epidemiologists at any career stage, and faculty supporting individuals in these roles.

QSN is supported by a Leadership Team, an Advisory Board, and a Core Planning Committee. The Core Planning Committee assists with the planning and implementation of events, educational seminars, and other network activities. The Leadership Team is made up of staff and faculty statisticians who have current experience working in staff roles or mentor those in staff roles.

Our collaborating/funding organization is the Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR).
